How great that is... I get
to celebrate New Year twice each year... This one belong to everyone who uses
money...Our salaries are according to this calendar, laws come into effect in
this calendar, service charges and interest follow this calendar...etc., etc.,
etc.
So
I decided that this 2014 I will be doing two things all year long. One, I will
save a Shekel for the first week, 2 Shekels for the second week and so on until
the 52nd when I will put in savings 52 Shekels. For those among you who
like the idea but prefer greater amounts, just add zeroes... that'll add up
nicely. (I'm sure the dollars add up nicely also).
Second,
I will find one thing to thank God each day and I will write it down. If you
wish to join me, maybe get a jar and just put the "thank yous" on a
paper and into to jar each day...that'll add up nicely also.
The
money was easy. I put 10 shekel in a jar for January and promptly decided that
until the fifth week in February, I am not even looking at it. The
thanking part I promptly forgot. Well, a friend on Face Book wrote thanks to
the Lord and reminded me my decision... Thank God for friends... that's an
extra thank you...
So
here are my Thanks so far:
On
the first day of 2014, I woke up with a melody in my head and a part of a
verse. I told Willie the verse, "...and they looked at the one whom
they pierced". Ask him what was that about and he told me to go and
read the passage and find out. Here it is:
Zechariah
12:7-10 "The
LORD also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of
David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not magnify themselves
against Judah.
8.
In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is
feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall
be as God, as the angel of the LORD before them.
9.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the
nations that come against Jerusalem.
10.
And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem,
the spirit of grace and of supplications: and
they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for
him, as one mourns for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one
that is in bitterness for his firstborn. "
First
day of the year 2014 -
Thank you God for your Word and for the prophecies in it. Thank You for
speaking to me in dreams and in vision.
Today,
2nd day of 2014, I woke up with the same melody of yesterday. It is of a song
about God's mercy and grace. It lasted with me all day as we dealt
with cellular phone / home phone / internet companies - bringing
down the monthly payments; as we walked for over an hour to and from the
grocery store pulling a private cart behind us full of fresh veggies and fruits
and products. And it is still singing inside my head as I write this
blog.
Second
day, 2014 -
Thank you God for your music; for your Grace, and for Your mercy; Thank you for
physical health and strength. Oh, and by-the-way, thank you God for the hot water
in the shower.
Yo'll
come back tomorrow now, ya hear?
Shalom,
from the walking about country,
Orith
