It is February 14th and among its' many names it is also called a Day of
Love.
We don't exchange gifts, Willie and I, we buy whatever we need or want
as things come up; never on this day. The taxi driver told us tonight, on the
way to our congregation in Acco, that his wife made him buy her chocolate,
balloon, and flowers and he is taking her to the movies just for this Day of
Love even though it is a second one in a year since we have a Jewish Day of
Love: Tu B'Av… We told him that every day is a day of love for us.
As much as we love flowers and chocolates, and we do, we offer gifts of
love one to another that have deeper meaning for us. One such gift Willie gave
to me tonight.
For five or six weeks he had been working on a 10 minutes teaching.
He was asked and chose to speak on Unity. He spoke tonight. Only this
time, for the very first time ever (and he spoke many times in front of
audience) Willie spoke in Hebrew.
I was in my regular place in the translating booth, translating his
short teaching into English. What a privilege and a joy it was to me to
hear him teach in Hebrew. He was so brave to do that after only six years
in Israel. Few would have taken that risk.
That was Willie's gift of love to me today. I am so proud of him!
45th Day of
Praise - Thank you God for giving my man the courage and ability to become a
true son of Israel. Thank you for helping him to learn Hebrew.
Feeling loved
and feeling proud
