At 13 a Jewish
boy steps up to the platform in the synagogue and takes on himself the adult
responsibility of following God and His commandments. This rite of passage is
called Bar Mitzvah.
His father
steps right beside him and praise God that he arrived at the day when he is
free from the consequences of the sins of the son, because up to that point,
the father was responsible for the son's behavior.
Tonight, we
attended that ceremony.
Like all big
events in Jewish life, this too was full of people, oodles of food, dances and
songs and joy. It was a privilege to
enjoy with the family the continuation of their family line and thus the
continuation of our nation.
80th Day of
Praise -
Thank you God
for young generation that is growing up …. "Am Israel Chai" - Israel
nation is alive.
Too full,
Orith
