Home Alone vs Public Transportation

Inside a local bus
The Israeli Infra Structure is a wonder to behold; It covers this little piece of land with precision of a giant road design, as complicated as LA or Seattle; yet, as simple as Vancouver Island.

My Friends often told me that to get to Jerusalem takes them only an hour and fifteen minutes. Since we set in the back seat often enough, I can attest to the fact that they don't drive too awful fast, so why does it takes us three hours by train and bus?

Today, the train is on a partial strike - the mechanics don't like the new summer schedule.  Willie had appointment in Jerusalem.  We knew that he will have to ride two buses to Jerusalem so I opt to stay at home.  Our fantastic buses are not the Greyhounds in Canada - I would have had to pester the driver to stop in some gas stations….

Willie left at 8:00 am to catch the bus in Nahariya.  I had a day alone at home.  I love that - to do whatever I please without looking at the clock for lunches or suppers or whatever.  I had a lot of time to pray, and to sing while I ironed, and to dance while the vacuum was moving about…A great day.  Willie, however, had a different kind of a day.

While the trains are on strike, the bus drivers are working double shifts; Roads blocks are in full operation today at many check points looking for the three abducted boys; two fatal accidents added to the confusion and the average Israeli does not pass by an accident without checking with everyone around to get "the full story" so they can phone home to report, which stops the traffic for another kilometer or two.

It is 7:22 pm Willie just walked in the door, his bus left Jerusalem at 3:30 pm and he caught the connecting bus at 6:10 in Haifa.  I am being very selfish today; I am glad that I had stayed home alone.

169th Day of Praise -
Thank God for keeping Willie safe in his entire daily travels and thank God for keeping me praying and praising Him today while alone at home.

I am glad he got home, I missed him.

Tomorrow is another hot day,

Orith
