We had our volunteers meeting today. The leader changed the topic and asked the
group to express our feelings. I expected
many responses, but the one that came was somewhat different than I expected.
The most
expressed feeling was - A collective anxiety.
We are all
over 60, so our sons and daughters are not in the regular army. A few have nephew and nieces serving, some
have children in the reserve but majority do not have direct blood relatives in
the service. Yet, the most common
response was, "I fear that our soldiers will die".
A lone soldier
died yesterday, his picture and story was advertised in the social media, and
20,000 arrived at the funeral last night.
His grandfather sister is one of our volunteers. She told me that the
family had to ask for help from his unit commander to be able to get to the
burial spot to pray over it.
A collective
anxiety; Fear for our young people serving in Gaza. Everyone expresses the same
fear and understands the next person who feels the same….The collective
response is Prayer.
203rd Day of
Praise -
Thank You God for uniting us in Prayer; it is the collective response for
the collective fear, thank You God for bringing peace soon.
Praying in
sadness,
Orith
