Yesterday, I was at the office by the desk
recording home visits to some old folks.
I was at that computer for 11 straight hours so I returned home rather
tired.
We went early to bed, anticipating the end
of a ceasefire. It did not come. Ceasefire is still on. But I had a sleepless night
non-the-less. In the morning I realized
that most of my night I spend waking up from bugs bites. I would fall asleep and within the hour was
awaken by a bite. Most of them on my
fingers, but some on my legs; I could not see any mosquitos nor other flying
creatures, so I guessed that somehow my bed is hosting bugs.
The morning found me too tired to think. I tried coffee, and water and just staring at
the home computer ….still tired. So I
did the next best thing - I stripped the bed and started a spring-cleaning-bug-removing-disinfecting-war.
The mattress was leaning against the
wardrobe, the side tables moved to the next room, the vacuum was working, the wash
machine was pouring hot water on the beddings, and a whirl wind of bug sprays,
and swifter movements filled the room. I
declared my own private Protective Edge War - no bugs will survive this one.
It is amazing how much energy one masters when
provoked.
231st Day of Thanksgiving -
I thank God for giving me enough energy to
do a spring cleaning in the middle of a very hot summer; for good working bug sprays. Thank God for winning the war.
Relieved,
Orith
