It is almost Jewish New Year…3 days to go…then we
start all over again into year 5,775 since creation. This "by the moon calendar" affects
our Torah reading and our holidays and the planting, or rather not planting
this year, of crop…
A shmita year, one every 7 years, begin in 3 days; A
day of rest for the land. Willie is
working hard on his little garden and I am hoping that no Rabbi will stop by to
tell him to quit it since it is not kosher.
He planted some tomato plants and they are growing fast;
and the roses might need pruning; and the cactus need to be separated to section,
and maybe the Shesk tree (Loquat) will grow a foot or two…but he is not to till
the land, nor enjoy the produce….it is a year of rest.
When I told him to be aware of the Rabbi, he said,
"I don't think so…" well, I warned him!
264th Day of Praise -
SHANAH TOVA to you all and to God, my King of kings,
and Lord of lord, the mighty God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and to His messiah
Yeshua. Thank You God for a new restful
beginning.
Anticipating growth anyway,
Orith
