On the right, rise the mountains of Jordan, on the left, soars the
Syrian hills; we dip in the hot mineral water in the valley between them. The border where Israel, Syria, and Jordan
meet is a luxurious vacation spot.
Hamat Gader is in Israel, and the valley has sulfa pools.
We went there, two buses filled with old army buddies who took a day
trip from Nahariya and invited us to join them.
We visited the grounds where the crocodiles live, and the parrots perform
and the baboons fight…An interesting area.
Surprisingly it was peaceful; the valley nestles between two enemy
countries, but not a sound of bombing or a sign of airplane nor a guard with
guns. When we returned back to the city
we heard that the uprising is spreading to south of Israel and young people are
being knifed and killed by other young people.
It feels as if the country is on fire…
We walked home from downtown and prayed all the way for the safety of
our citizens. It is promised that the
days will be shortened for the sake of the elect - we are living among the
elect, we need these days to be shortened.
314th Day of Praise -
Thank you God for a day of R&R amidst the troubles…
Tired yet praying,
Orith
