WEDNESDAY
1st sirens – at 18:27
I called my neighbor right away asking if she wanted us to come up or her coming down to us. She decided to go to the washroom where there were no windows to worry about. Told me to do the same. The siren went on twice.
It is 18:31 and everyone, including Willie, is on the street. We can read in the emergency Red Alert on the phone that it was a Hostile aircraft entering our space. Found a bit later these were para-gliders and they spread around the Galil. There are so many airplanes that I guess they are doing their job and I can sit peacefully and write.
Here it is again at 18:35 now. Sirens were in Safed, Tiberias, Beit Zera. Willie is at home, and the neighbourhood is all gathered outdoors. You've got to see what hit you right?!
At least now we know Nahariya is part of the action. Yea Lord – you are an answering-prayers - God. After 15 years of prayers for the Northern Border, we can compare our condition in this war to the south of Israel and see your hand on us. Please answer our prayers and protect the rest of Israel, Amen.
I am concerned about our army - the soldiers have very little and need more food, socks, mattresses, bed sheets, and even tents! I am praying and hoping to be able to find help for them, the army is stressed to the limit and the mothers & wives have to get together somehow and organize what they need and take it over to their station. But they are moving all the time. One mother was trying to get catering for one unit so they have hot food for Sabbath and the unit has just been mobilized, unknown destination all we know they are on the North Border.
Some of the people around us are expecting a long and hard war. The medical clinics are preparing for many wounded. I don't know how the soldiers will pick up all the equipment the mothers are trying to collect and bring and run with it in the open fields. God told us that some of what we bought needed to stay home for the children and elderly who would be staying behind. So we have some things to give if we can make it on this coming Sabbath but we need to pray and see what the Lord wants us to keep at home for the neighborhood needs in the long run. PRAYING, PRAYING AND LISTENING TO HIS DIRECTIONS is what I feel I need to concentrate on.
One of the workers in Bituach Leumi had a visit from a 4-day-old grandchild. The baby's father - was called to the border and the army gave him till today - the baby is a week old today. He is high up - first in line of fire! How can we choose who we pray for? They all need our prayers support and love. We need them all to come back alive.
With all the hostages, the dead, the wounded and the reserves going back to the fronts, the greatest cry right now is from Isaiah 40:
“Comfort, O comfort My people, says your God.
Speak kindly to Jerusalem;
and call out to her, that her warfare has ended,
that she received of the Lord's hand double for her sins”.
Gaza and Ashkelon earlier today.
