I realized later on that I panicked last night because Willie does what everyone here does when the sirens sound – opens the big bay window and looks up to see the rockets, and maybe take a picture... Scary!
I can understand that. We are on the “confrontation line” and the rocket falls before or during the sirens. No time to open your door and go down to the shelter. Getting a picture of the rocket is a better use of one's time. The Home Front will never agree to it, but the local crowd is out on their balconies.
01:15 the Jackals are whining.
I fell asleep at 22:30. It took three hours to recover from the sirens, including a calming hot shower and cuddling with the cat. By 12:30 I lay awake again, listening to the sounds of the night. No sounds rose from the park behind us. Often, there is the odd chirping, a dog bark, teenagers strolling home, some praying souls leaving the synagogue... nothing tonight. The cat jumped back on the bed, knowing I was lying awake in the dark. Her occasional purring mixed with Willie's soft breathing and dream mumbling. The quiet was telling.
By 01:15 the local bike came to life, reeving its motor and leaving behind its annoying sound as it sped into the night. Then the Jackals began their hunt. I returned to bed at 03:00 after prayers, forcing myself to sleep so I could join the 06:00 o'clock prayer group. For us in the city, the war is taxing our strength. Many people in the Home Front are simply tired.
This morning, I was late – woke up at 06:30. it is 180 days for the war and 24 days for Ramadan. The group is praying for all who pray on the Mountain Of God and they declare God's love through Psalm 24. What a love you have God that Your people pray for all the Israelis to be saved, as well as, for their enemies!
Taiwan had a 7.7 earthquake & Japan had a tsunami around 07:00 local time – 02:00 Israel time. Some of us were awake last night at the time. Did you tell us to pray for your people in the Far East at that time? God, please help the people who live at these countries and save the ones trapped under the rubble.
