Yom HaAtzmaut – Israel's 76th Independence Day.

A few minutes to 8 am, Willie is getting ready to record his weekly video, I am praying that my eyes see better today and our neighbourhood sounds like Shabbat – total peace.

The phone alert sounds. The first rocket fire on this day of celebration was sent to Ashkelon.

I am told that the air show will fly above Jerusalem this morning. They did practice over our area in the last few days. We will not see it over there, but I pray that the plans will be able to do the show. We need to lift our spirits up.

Yes, we are strong. Yes, we are the nation that continues to live over thousands of years while big empires that came against us no longer exist. Yes, God is for us, so no one can be against us. However, at times, one needs a bit of uplift and encouragement that is immediate and tangible. I think an air show will help today in the middle of all the rockets.

Nevertheless and despite everything! Happy Independence Day 76 to Israel.
