New Life

I woke up this morning with pictures of memories behind my eyelids.  It was Meagan that I saw and the times we spend together.  Meagan, my first grandchild, with the dog she loved; cutting papers at the kitchen table, dancing…. Meagan.

I ran to the computer trying to reach her on the other side of earth. I could not. So I called and talked to my son who informed me that she is at her friend for a "sleep over". He and the wife were having a quiet evening. I thanked him, hang up the phone and cried. She was so real behind my eyelids… I could touch her.  I miss my children and grandchildren; it had been three years since I hugged any of them.

But over here, there were birthday's celebrations today. One friend reached 75 years of age, one reached her 45th birthday, and another friend had a new granddaughter.  Mazal Tov to all of them.

It is always good to hear of new life. It is always encouraging to hear of continuation of the nation and to realize that life goes on and despite persecutions and disasters and wars, the nation continues to grow and to expend and to live.  We have now 5 generations of people living side by side and many enjoy their grad-grand-grandkids.

Willie and I were asked today to take on special visits, as part of our volunteer service, to people on their 100 years birthdays. We are to congratulate them and hand in certificates from our Knesset Member.  A two pages birthday list is available for visits during 2014. What an honor. We are excited to take part.

33rd Day of Praise - Thank you God for newborns, for birthdays, for celebration of life. It is good.

Nostalgic and a touch philosophical,

Orith

Sorry you missed speaking to Megan, but I'm glad you got to see her in your dreams. Amazing new ministry to visit those whom God grants a full century of life to. I'm sure you'll hear many interesting stories this year.... and look forward to hearing a summary of them when 2014 comes to a close...
