I love birthdays.
Mine started on March 29
with a celebration of three April born ladies. It continued yesterday with a
young couple coming over to help us with removing the dust of the dessert's
winds from the windows and the blinds, a hard task. Last night finished with a
cousin calling to wish me a happy birthday.
By 5 am this morning a Skype
call came in from the States, a friend wished me a happy birthday and we talked
for a few minutes. By almost 6 am hot coffee arrived at my computer, just the
way I like it; while my oldest son and granddaughter Skyped with me…I have such
good looking family - it was a pleasure to see them both.
Half an hour later, an
unexpected, complete breakfast of an egg, two Kababs, bread and more of that
great coffee was cooked and served by that man I married…
SMS showed on my cellular
as we walked out the door: free Shabat paper, check; Tonic water, check;
flowers from Willie, check…returned home an hour later to a chat line full of
B-D wishes from around the world and my cellular ringing with wishes from
Israeli friends all over.
At 2:30 pm, friends picked
us up for supper in a new local restaurant. Evening found me translating in the
congregation where I was given prayers and presents. It is almost 9 pm. The
calls and SMS and emails are still coming in.
Thank you Family and
Friends for all the love pouring over me.
101st Thankful Day in 2014
-
I thank God that I was
born, that I am alive and that I lived to this old ripe age of 68. I pray that I'll hear once again from all of you by next
year on this day.
Soaking in the attention,
Orith
