It is the 100th day of the year and I am still keeping my promise to
thank God for one thing each day.
There are days that I simply don't know what to write. Not that I
don't have a thankful heart that day, but I am very aware that my blog is
public and not all things are ok to share publicly, even if I am thankful for
them. Some days I think that what I am thankful about is a redundant subject
and was talked about before. Other days I am in a bad mood or upset or I
am just bored as it is one of those days that my kids still call it, "same
old, same old".
But I made a promise at the beginning of 2014 so I am doing my best to
keep it, even if it is not easy.
One thing that helps me in those evenings when I have no notion of what
to write about is the fact that God always keeps His promises; and I need His
promises kept in order to survive.
He said that He will never leave me nor forsake me; He told me that He
will look after my children and grandchildren even when they are too old to be
babysat by me or by anyone else; He showed me that He prepared a place for my
family and for me to dwell in; He promised to keep loving us for He is love; He
prophesied over Israel that we will dwell in this land forever and will not be
driven away again, and He promised to heal.
His bible is full of His promises.
"The Lord builds up Jerusalem; He gathers together the outcasts of
Israel. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds".
The Hebrew words say that 'He bandages their sorrows'. I love this
promise. I found it in Psalms 147 and claimed it as my own.
Since we arrived in Israel, I am being healed daily. He showers me with
His love through His people while He heals my body from diseases and my heart
from hurts. He is a master in keeping promises and I am thankful that I am able
to keep a little promise I made to Him for one-hundred days.
100th Day of Thankful Praise -
I thank God that He helped me to keep my promise and I know He will
continue to help me to do so for the next 265 days of 2014. Thank You God
for being the best Promise Keeper.
I love you God,
Orith
