White Donkey |
It is Monday morning and the last Shabbat during Passover.
All I want to do this morning is to sleep. So instead I cleaned some kitchen
cupboard and the stove and talked to a friend and arranged a walk to her house this
afternoon and now I'm writing.
I think at times one gets too much rest. I am simply
not used to it; after the busy life we had here, it seems weird. Besides, when
I lay down I feel dizzy.
We celebrated a second Seder last night. We've never
done that before; even in Exile, we never celebrated a second Seder at the end
of the Passover Holiday. But, since the Messianic don't celebrate Easter in
this country, and we were invited by friends, then it turned out just fine. I
asked the Seder leader last night, "Why don't we celebrate Easter in
Israel?" ….
The Resurrection is celebrated here among us on each
Friday / Shabbat service. After all, the
Seder was Yeshua (Jesus) Last Supper. As for Easter Sunday - it does not arrive
in Israel except for every 7-8 years. Also, the Catholic Church separated
itself from its Jewish roots as far as it could and Passover was left by the
wayside. That choice was picked up by all the Christian churches worldwide and
only in the last few years people started to search the Jewish roots of their
faith and are finding the Jewish feasts.
The Leader added that in the Garden Tomb there are some combine services
but not each year and he would love everyone to take part in that.
This morning I feel the effect of more wine and Tirosh
(extremely sweet grape juice) than I've ever had in one sitting. Maybe it is
all that unexpected sugar that causes the dizziness. Diet…here we come…
109th - 110th (? - I lost count…) Day of Thankfulness
-
Thank You God for leading us all toward you. Thank You
for the Feasts and times of joy humanity involved in - the times of true
celebrations are some of the times that we unite and appreciate each other.
May this new Biblical year be the best year ever.
I think I'll go back to sleep anyway…
Orith
