The Neighborhood's Plant

When we moved to Nahariya I cut a tiny leaf off a plant near the beach and transplanted it into a planter.

It grew…and grew…and after I changed its planter it grew even more.

Two weeks or so I decided that the good outdoor bed will be better for it, so I transferred it from the planter to the garden bed in front of our building.

The neighbours warned me that the city gardeners will pluck it out the first chance they get; but, I watered it and cleaned the bed from cigarettes' butts, anyway. I even wrote about trekking mud indoors on the 121st Day.

Yesterday, the store owner downstairs related that she told the gardeners to leave it alone, and they did.  She also told some of her friends to stop throwing butts into the area, and one walked further to the road in front of us, so we can see that he is keeping the garden clean.

We rejoice, such neighborly gifts…

144 Days of Thanks -
I thank you God that you are connecting between us and the people in our area. It is hard to be the new comer in an old neighborhood.  These acts of friendship are gifts of Grace.

Thinking of planting another cactus,

Orith
