KADDISH

They found the bodies on Monday night.  It is Thursday night and only three days of the seven days of mourning have passed.; But the core of Israel's heart had been wounded.

Three young boys on the way home abducted and murdered in cold blood for no reason at all, just because hate met them on their way.  From Gaza rockets are being shelled as I write; Jerusalem forest is filled with fire fighters who try to contain the flames from spreading upward to Hadassah Hospital, and young children exhibiting unusual fear reactions.

A mother told me today that her young child refuses to leave her room, "they say that there is an abductor in our area".  Mother had to call police and every other source of information to assure her daughter that she is safe and can leave the house to play next door.

How do you deal with a real fear?  What do you say to the person who is shell shocked and have every logical reason on earth to react that way?  We mourn; collectively and individually.

Daily, each morning of the first year after a person death the family members recite the Kaddish.  Traditions and religious laws dictate who when where etc.  But for me, who is a total stranger to the boy, the reciting of the Kaddish sooth my heart with its ancient wisdom and truth as I privately participate in the praising of our God.  The Wise and Only God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob

Translated...
May His great name be exalted and sanctified (Amen.)
In the world that He had created as He willed.
May His kingdom reign in your lifetimes and in your days,
and in the lifetimes of the entire House of Israel, swiftly and soon. (Amen). May His great Name be blessed forever and ever.
Blessed, praised, glorified, exalted, extolled,
mighty, upraised, and lauded be the Name of the Holy One, Blessed is He
beyond any blessing and song,
praise and consolation that are uttered in the world. (Amen)
May there be abundant peace from Heaven,
And life upon us and upon all Israel ((Amen)
He who makes peace in His heights, May He makes peace,
upon us and upon all Israel.
And all respond: Amen

184th Day of Thanks -
I thank God that His chosen people call on Him and exalt His name even while they are mourning.

I see why this brings a sense of peace.
