Over time I heard of many reasons for motivating people to do one thing
or another.
Most people have no idea what motivates them. Most people will give all kinds of answers to
the question, "what motivates you?"
But in my opinion, there are two main reasons for motivation: One is fear and the other is love.
In the same way that we are all built to "fight or flee", we
are also built to react strongly to fear and to love. The reaction to fear will be hard on us. We will feel boxed in, we will try to avoid
certain outcomes, and we will be under pressures -constantly. Fear motivates us to think, "I have to do
…I have to be…I have to succeed…"
The reaction to love is different. We do what we do because we are motivated from
"wanting to do it". Love shows
us a better way, a peaceful direction, one that is a choice not slavery. Love helps us think, "I want to…I am
accepted as I am… I enjoy this…."
I prefer doing out of love. Love
is an easier motivation on my health, disposition, joy of life, and being who I
am.
335th Day of Praise -
I thank you God for your motivation of love. I thank you God that you explain that choice
to me and gave me the freedom to choose love.
Truly peaceful,
Orith
