      FRIDAY - Day ...I don't remember, it's been too long...in Swords of Iron War

    Woke up around 03:40 from dreaming about sea lions in bunches, or is it schools, like fish? bobbing in and out in the ocean.

    Thunder and lightning all around and the wind in the window is cold. Oh, our poor soldiers, all that weather! Do they have proper rain gear? shelter? warm food and warm clothing? I was praying partly awake partly seeing the bobbing sea lions... Willie? I called when I realized he was not beside me. "thunder and lightning" he said as he walked into the room.

    "how come the jackals are out in this weather?"

    "they are not, these are cars sounds, and bombs and you can see the lights from the fighting across the horizon."

    I'm up. Willie made me coffee and I'm drinking it and chewing on a protein bar. Whatever private journey I was on 20 days ago, it took a side trail into a war some days ago.

    Time to pray.

    Because of the Lord’s great love, we are not consumed,

    for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning;
    great is your faithfulness.

    I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.”

    The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him;

    it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. (Lamentations 3:22-26)



    During morning prayers, a miracle testimony was told: A helicopter was hit and its engine stopped. The pilot knew it would be hit again and chose to land. As he landed, the helicopter landing was so gentle as if hands brought it down. All 50 soldiers came out and the helicopter was hit again. A second engine blew up but miraculously, the pilot came out whole. Praise God.

    We need to remember that all the miracles that happened and will happen are due to the Glory of God.

    08:45 – the 'booms' exchange started.

    They are evacuating Kiryat Shmona, which was the worst hit in the 2006-Lebanon War. Government expense: homes to B&B. Meanwhile, in Nahariya we hear the explosions of the IDF returning fire – or so the city hall announces.

    Willie is in town. I called and asked him to come home. I know that God is watching over him, but I'd rather he will be watched at home with me.

    09:10 – quiet. Willie is at home. I'm climbing stairs to be with my friend for a bit.

    The hardest part is the uncertainty, I think, maybe...
