Yafa Krinkin, the poet |
26.10.2023
My mother would have been 106 today. It is by the grace of God she is not experiencing this mayhem. Happy Birthday, Ima.
Yafa Krinkin, my mother, was a great poet and loved Israel with her entire being. I am unable to publish her last book, it still sitting in the drawer even though it receive the AKUM Price before publication. Poetry does not publish well, I gather, anymore. But, the power of words was always important to her and as I see our new generation, I can see how the same power is used on the internet. The Israeli hackers had caused the electricity in Tehran to fall and today they warned Nasrallah who is the head of the terrorists- Hizbala, to retreat or they'll attack again. They are using the power of the word differently than the pen, but it is still powerful. I think that the Word of God is even more powerful.
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
(Hebrews 4:12)
So
we pray. We declare the Word of God over the IDF and the medical
teams on the ground; the pilots in the air, and the fighters in the
sea. We declare His promises over the land and its habitats, and we
call out His love over Jerusalem. And we believe, with all of our
beings
, that Israel is the land that God gave to Abraham,
Issac and Jacob and their descendants; that it is God's Will and
Testament to us, and we will stay, alive and well, on it as He
promised us.

I would very much like to read her poetry. It would take some time to translate for me, but I would like to do that. Poetry is a beautiful and I think essential vehicle of communication.
So perhaps one day I can read these poems. B’ahava, יגנט ❤️
