How can I explain the horrors of this war to my loved one across the ocean?

What can I say that they will understand the difference between murdering babies and fighting to keep your nation alive? The horrors that we see done to our people, cannot be compared or understood with words.

Israel agreed to give the citizens in Gaza more time to vacate their homes before they go in to shoot Hamas. Hamas, proven by now that they are all on drugs, are underground in the tunnels they build and filled up with gasoline tanks. One match and the entire area will be blown up, Israel is asking the citizens of the site to leave for their safety. The Arab citizens of Gaza are Muslims and Christians. Those who listened to the command to evacuate were given safe dwellings in Israel. It was the same as the Israeli Northern Settlements – they were told to evacuate and were placed in hotels in other areas of Israel. We know of people from Gaza who were given safe dwellings inside Israel, just like we know families and friends who were evacuated to hotels in other cities in the country.

Hamas attacked peaceful kibbutzim, with open doors, and trusting people who provided them jobs and food and friendship for over 30 years. They had lists of people with their families; sketches of their homes inside, and even the ages of family members. They attacked all ages, cut their throats or shoot them on site, one big murdering massacre. One pregnant woman was cut open and the baby was still attached to the umbilical cord tangling dead from his mother's dead body. That is worse than animal behaviour. But they are human and should be punished for the horrors they did as a human who made a choice.

How can you explain such atrocities to loved ones who have never seen a murder or suffered such horrors? Thank God they did not, but how do I explain that Israel cannot take equal and proportional action! IDF will never kill babies with a drugged glee of murder! Our soldiers are known to be the most moral army on the globe. They don't do drugs. They returned from the entire world to Israel to protect their families and regain their land, not to murder.

How can I explain what I cannot understand myself - most of us are still in shock.

Please, God, send someone to explain the unexplainable.
