THE JOURNEY - Day 6

 FRIDAY

Willie went shopping for the Sabbath. I stayed home. After prayers and reading the bible, I experimented with my morning shake: Complex Powder, avocado, kiwi, cut green beans, almond-milk-no-sugar.

I used the avocado because it was hard. It is challenging to buy the right avocado. Willie buys them too soft and I choose them too hard. But the hard ones don't ripe to my liking, they just turn black. This time I thought I'd try some of it in a shake.

It looked good. It was not too bad taste at the beginning of the drink. However, the avocado taste overpowered the rest of it and left a strong taste in my mouth. Not a choice I'll repeat. It also caused a heartburn.

Live and learn.

Learning gives us knowledge that we need in our lives. I think of it as light.

There are 433 times in the bible when the word “light” is used. It is often associated with hope and joy. It also indicates that God is protecting His beloved.

They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.” (Exodus 10:23)

There was a light in Goshen! It is a fact and a promise, God protects His beloved. This protection, joy and love continue into old age.

And there shall be one day which shall be known as the LORD'S, not day, and not night; but it shall come to pass, that at evening time there shall be light.” (Zechariah 14:7)

Even in the Day of the Lord, there will be light in the evening, or in other words, in our old age. God continues to shine on those He loves. So even when the whole world is dark, and when we are old and almost blind, His light shines and illuminates the way for us. He is always with us.

Such a perfect word for me today, light. His light in my life, making the path ahead of me clear so that I do not stumble. Thank you Orith!
