War Day 77 @ SWORDS OF IRON.

 22.12.2023 –  FRIDAY

The generation of the baby boomers began in 1946, these ancient ones were 77 in 2023.

Today is the 77 day of our unexpected and unwanted surprise war. October 7 cut our Lucky double digits down. It is a double-digit Friday as well. Does not feel that lucky.

Wars seem to be Israel's way of life. A song that was written by Miriam Yalan Shteklis , “A Flower I Gave to Nurit” in the 1940s followed me all through my childhood. It is still a part of our lives. Here is its last verse “I never cry”, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HBEWVOI-eN4 sung by Hila Yahalomi who lost her brother in one of these wars.

Winter Solstice
I woke up shortly before 04:00.

I found out a few hours later that 03:27 was the start of Winter Solstice and the rain was pounding on our windows breaking the long hot autumn that was essential for the Israeli tanks to drive on dry land to Gaza. We are praying that the IDF on the Northern Border will overcome the challenges of the mud and the obstacles of the very cold nights.

When we went to sleep, Metula and Kiryat Shmona in the North and Northeast were hit by rockets from the Hezbollah. Hamas refused to break for a week and to return the hostages that still left in Gaza, and Netanyahu was so angry that he told them we would not stop shelling them until they were all dead or surrounded.

We heard the artileries exchanged in the north most of the night mixed with the heavy rain.

In the morning the news reported that 2 soldiers had fallen in Gaza and 3 were wounded. Also reported that 20 countries are involved now in the Red Sea area as a coalition against Yemen while apparently Jordan stopped a hit from Yemen to Eilat, Israel.

The Lord reminded me of Isaiah 61 this morning:

"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;

To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified."

yihiye beseder” = everything will be alright. The most used phrase in Israel.

Of course it is,
we know that our Messiah is coming soon.
