Jan.3.2024.
It
shall blossom abundantly and rejoice,
Even
with joy and singing.
The
glory of Lebanon shall be given to it,
The
excellence of Carmel and Sharon.
They
shall see the glory of the Lord,
The
excellency of our God. (Isaiah
35:2, 9-10)
We keep praying today for the hostages. I listened yesterday to the interview with one of the girls who returned. It was hard to listen to – she experienced a holocaust. Days without air in tunnels under the earth; when they moved her, she met other Israelis who were kept in cages and had expected to die shortly; She was operated on her arm without understanding of what was done to her. She was in a tremendous fear of being raped. The wife of her jailer would bring food to him but would not give food to her only stared at her with eyes full of hate. I cannot imagine how the rest of the abducted can survive, with so little air, no food but a pita a day, and no medical care - still. Only God can save them and bring them home. We pray that He sends angels to the hostages to keep them alive and to help them keep up their hope.
For
by You, I can run against a troop,
By
my God, I can leap over a wall.
As
for God, His way is perfect;
The
word of the Lord is
proven;
He
is a shield to all who trust in Him.
(Psalm 18:29 -30)
We heard today from parents who saw their children-soldiers last night for a short visit. The troupes are hungry. Some, after more than 80 days, had to leave to find financial solutions for their families who were left at home without income. They too are running out of food and unable to pay the mounting bills. “The army marches on its stomach” – true for all humans during all wars. We prayed for our soldiers who have to continue to fight on the Northern border in Lebanon – against Hamas and Hezbollah, and in Syria – against Iran.
God is the LORD of Hosts! He has all the armies. His armies of angels are ready and able to fight for His people. To Him we pray that He will dispatch an angel per soldier and a few more to gather around the units, to protect them and to supply them with the physical necessities and spiritual needs. We pray that He will help our troupes to keep up morale and hope.
We pray that God will give wisdom to our politicians and army leaders and they will see to the needs of the army as well as how to be victorious over the enemy and to bring the hostages home.
Look, I am giving you this land. Go and take it. (Deuteronomy 1:8)
We stand on the promises of God to His nation regarding His land. It looks like He is giving to us the prophesied borders of old. But He always expects us to go and take it.
But he was always in front, going ahead to find a place for you to camp. At night, he was in the fire that showed you where to go. And during the day, he was in the cloud. ( Deuteronomy 1:33)
So we stand on His promises and by faith continue to believe in their outcome.
