Fire and rescue barges for Israel North District
Update (01:00) for fires in the north
Kiryat Shmona, Manara, Kfar Giladi - 13 firefighting teams continue extinguishing operations and protecting the line of houses. Several pergolas and warehouses in the Tel-Hai neighbourhood were damaged by the fire. At the moment the main effort is to protect the houses in Kfar-Giladi and Kiryat Shmona.
Amiad - 17 fire brigades are working on the scene in an effort to stop the spread of the fire towards the settlement of Kahal and towards Nahal-Amud.
Ofer Adri, commander of the Nof HaGilil station, commanding a section of the fire in Amiad says: "This is a very large fire in an open area, on both sides of Highway 85. The fire crews are working hard to protect the settlement and are working in the field at the height of their intensity. Many hours are still ahead of us and if necessary we will assist the firefighting squadron by air at first light.'
Firefighters have been battling fires throughout the district for nearly 15 hours in extreme weather conditions and while striving to reach out to protect the homes, save lives and property.
Along with the firefighting teams from the North District, teams from the Coastal District and the Central District as well as orange firefighters from the Home Front Command are also working, who are increasing the forces and assisting in the firefighting efforts.
