SATURDAY. 267 Swords of Iron War.

  29.6.24. Nahariya, Israel.

Aircraft above us in a continuance grind to our ears. Our pilots.

For the third day in a row, we pray for them, “Go out in peace and return in peace. God be with you and protect you always.”

No Internet? 

Yesterday, sirens sounded in Nahariya. The booming was loud and felt close by. Home Front Command & Red Alert applications kept telling me that we had no internet, just when we needed to know why the sirens and where is the attack. My friend told me she was afraid, for the first time in this war. Memories of the 2006 Lebanon war, when Nahariya was the second worst hit in the North, surfaced. So I call out for prayers from friends here and abroad. They answered immediately and prayed.

The booming stopped, and the airplanes took a break in half an hour. Great prayers – thanks, everyone.

We slept well and without the grinding sounds. I reinstalled the apps this morning.

A day or so ago Willie and I were invited to Zoom with an IDF sergeant-major. He is older than the required age for reservists, but he is a specialized position and they cannot replace him. He has been in the war with his unit for 16 hours daily since October 7, 2023.

A very small group from a few countries was privileged to hear him speak and explain political and military decision-making and maneuvers. He believes in Yeshua and his communication purpose to alert us to prayer needs in Israel and abroad. He encouraged me. I can share very little of what I heard, and only some of the prayer requests.

“Lebanon”, he said “is Gaza on Steroids”. Since that area is not isolated, the war will be more costly than the 150,000,000 (yes, millions) shekel a day that it currently costs in Gaza. Knowing that information is a part of his expertise I ask, that much? No wonder the soldiers need protective gear donated to them from around the world, IDF does not have such a high budget! Covering IDF needs and expenses is a prayer need.

Lebanon has lots of backup groups and munitions, we need to pray that the groups will turn one against another.

The promised ammunition from the USA to Israel is held back by red tape in various ports and while the USA said that she shipped them, they did not arrive.

Pray that the needed weapons arrive now.

The Christian backup of Israel arrived slowly, and according to our speaker, 8 months too late; at the same time, the American Jewry are rather slow in waking up to the fact that while they see themselves as democratic good Americans, the politicians in the USA are moving toward favouring the Pro-Palestinian voters since there are more of them.

Pray for the Jews to wake up to the truth of their current situation and make Aliyah, they will be better in Israel, and Israel needs them.

Nahariya & Area 
under attack

A day or so after that Zoom meeting we had sirens and bombing in Nahariya, near the Lebanon border. He said that we will have a war, it is known and expected to happen, only he gave no dates. The Bible tells us that the disaster will come from the North and our people will wait for it – always. So no surprises. It is here.

Pray that God's will be done according to His purpose.

According to reports, the air force is clearing a 5 km strip to have a no-man-land zone between Lebanon and Israel. That area is designated by agreements after the 2006 war to 25 km. We saw Hezbollah inching toward Israel, building empty structures where they could shoot from. The last time we visited and prayed over the northern area, we could have touched these 'huts', they were right up against the fence of Kibbutz Misgav Am. This clearing is a long overdue action by the IDF.

Meanwhile, Ukraine reported that they took down all 10 Iranian-made UAVs - unmanned aerial vehicles- sent by Russia, and the US army reported that they destroyed 7 such weapons and the post they were sent from by the Yemeni Houthi. World war?

The division in the military and the government are driven by a pagan, secular spirit. There is a lot of “hurry up and wait” in the decision-making and the orders given in the IDF. Only God can change it.

• The salvation of Israel.

• Salvation of the enemy.

• The IDF will continue to show mercy in its conduct, which is a correct representation of God.

• Turn the hearts of the global believers toward Israel.
