WEDNESDAY. 278 days Swords of Iron War.

Sleep, please!

Nahariya, Israel.

The Sweat Season is upon us.

The heaviness of the weather gets into our bodies and into our psyche. One longs to sleep at all times of the day, but the body's wetness is cumbersome and does not allow for a break.

Long ago, we installed nets on our windows, against the bugs migration, and added ceiling fans as well. We take turns in rooms with A/C operating to dry off the sweat but not stay there long enough to suffer from the cold getting into our bones.

This season only lasts two months. But its' heaviness lasts longer.

We prayed today for countries around the globe. Our prayers covered the sad results of many elections; the wars in different countries; the terrorists entering a western, small settlement near Jerusalem; attacks in the North and South of Israel; and the increase of persecution of Jews and Christians around the globe.

We also prayed for an official bureaucratic welcome to the Aliyah by those who process it. The influx of returning Jews is hard on the clerks who are the first in line to meet the newcomers. The language barriers are only the start. We have had a large influx of Ukrainian speakers, next we expect a large incoming of French speakers. Many people here are multilingual, thank God for that, but of course, not everyone can speak every language.

The heaviness we all feel right now is harder on our soldiers. It brings down the morale and the agility required in the fighting fields. Those of us who pray daily and those who are in direct contact with the army, feel the pulling down. Prayers are needed continually.

We asked God to shorten the time and let the wars cease. Nine months is a long time for a war, I cannot imagine the four years of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

To keep up the morale, one needs to cling to the Hope of His Salvation. Nothing else works.

(Roman 8:22-25)

For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.

Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.

For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees?

But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.
