Jerusalem Loot |
What a week. And it is not over yet...
We went to Jerusalem on Sunday, and it was less busy than usual before the Fast. We visited a friend who was the best hostess ever, bought items one cannot find in Nahariya, and enjoyed the dry heat.
Monday was a vigil night. We started the 9 B'Av fast and waited for an attack from Iran. We asked everyone to pray that Israel will not shoot the first shot. God answered our prayers, He centred an earthquake in Damascus, and we had no shooting or bombing since then. Also, I heard no reports of casualties from the quake.
Tuesday,
we bussed and trained it to Haifa for some medical appointments.
Again, the heat in the cities along the Mediterranean shore is high
with a very high humidity. I find myself falling asleep even while
walking. We are not fear-motivated over here, but our bodies do react
to the various stimuli around us.Seniors' "Parlamnet"
Today,
Willie noticed while shopping downtown that the senior citizens had taken
over the coffee shop downtown. See the hanging canes on the umbrella?
Paul Rooda (www.alive-and-well.org ) from Belgium called and recited the entire Psalm 27 specifically for us; he replaced “my, I” with “Israel”. He had done the same at the beginning of the war. This is a true gift to us and it encourages our faith. Thank you, Paul.
PSALM 27
The
Lord is my (Israel's) light and my (Israel's) salvation;
Whom
shall I (Israel's) fear?
The Lord is the strength of my (Israel's)
life;
Of whom shall I (Israel's) be afraid?
When the wicked
came against me (Israel's)
To eat up my (Israel's) flesh,
My
(Israel's) enemies and foes,
They stumbled and fell.
Though an
army may encamp against me, (Israel's)
My (Israel's) heart shall
not fear;
Though war may rise against me, (Israel's)
In this, I
(Israel's) will be confident.
One
thing I (Israel's) have desired of the Lord,
That will I
(Israel's) seek:
That I (Israel's) may dwell in the house of the
Lord
All the days of my (Israel's) life,
To behold the beauty
of the Lord,
And to inquire in His temple.
For in the time of
trouble
He shall hide me (Israel's) in His pavilion;
In the
secret place of His Tabernacle
He shall hide me; (Israel's)
He
shall set me (Israel's) high upon a rock.
And
now my (Israel's) head shall be lifted up above my (Israel's) enemies
all around me;
Therefore I (Israel's) will offer sacrifices of joy
in His Tabernacle;
(Israel's) I will sing, yes, I (Israel's) will
sing praises to the Lord.
Hear,
O Lord, when I (Israel's) cry with my voice!
Have mercy also upon
me (Israel's),
and
answer me (Israel's).
When You said, “Seek My face,”
My
(Israel's) heart said to You,
“Your
face, Lord, I (Israel's) will seek.”
Do not hide Your face from
me; (Israel's)
Do not turn Your servant away in anger;
You have
been my (Israel's) help;
Do
not leave me (Israel's) nor forsake me, (Israel's)
O God of my
(Israel's) salvation.
When my (Israel's) father and my (Israel's)
mother forsake me, (Israel's)
Then the Lord will take care of me
(Israel's). Teach me (Israel's) Your way, O Lord,
And lead me
(Israel's) in a smooth path, because of my (Israel's) enemies.
Do
not deliver me (Israel's) to the will of my (Israel's)
adversaries;
For false witnesses have risen against
me,(Israel's)
And such as breathe out violence.
I (Israel's) would have lost heart unless I (Israel's) had believed
that I (Israel's) would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of
the living.
Wait
on the Lord; Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your
heart;
Wait, I say, on the Lord!
